PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Our list of video attractions this week is very slender but highlighted by one major offering.
It’s Ben-Hur, the rousing Biblical epic from 1959 starring Charlton Heston as the Jewish prince whose faith is intertwined with Jesus.
The film earned 11 Oscars. The New York Times called it “possibly the most stirring and respectable Biblical fiction ever conceived.” This 50th anniversary collector’s edition is out on Wednesday.
Then there’s Carlos, the 2010 epic on the life of the infamous terrorist known as “Carlos the Jackal,” one of the century’s most wanted fugitives.
Also, a reminder that Kino International has freshened its impressive Buster Keaton collection with two reworked silent features: Battling The Butler, from 1926, and Go West, from 1925.
