PHILADELPHIA (CBS) –  There’s no question about it, 15-year-old Tymeir loves the stage.

“Having everybody’s eyes on you, knowing that everybody came to see you and to hear you, and hearing everybody’s applause, is amazing,” he says wistfully.  But he’s not letting the spotlight distract him.

“It’s every kid’s dream to be a star, but it’s my dream to become something I always wanted to be.  I want to first go to college, then I want to go to cosmetology school, so I can learn to do hair,” Tymeir says.

His social worker, Donna Davis, says Tymeir has generosity in his blood.

“When we talked about what he wants to do when he grows up, he said, whether he makes it as a singer or a hairdresser, if he started getting some money, he was going to purchase a large home — he was going to use it for people who are homeless,” Davis says.  “You know, that’s just a wonderful response.”
