PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspect who robbed a 66-year-old woman last month.
The incident happened on South 9th Street at about 4 a.m. on August 10th. According to police, the victim was waiting for a ride to work when the unidentified suspect approached the woman and grabbed her backpack. The victim attempted to hold on to the bag, but the suspect allegedly pushed her to the ground.
“He throws her violently to the ground with such force that she actually falls out of her shoes,” said Captain Larry Nodiff of the Philadelphia Police Department.
Nearby surveillance was able to catch the suspect fleeing the scene on a red and white BMX bike north on 9th street with the stolen property. Police say the backpack contained a cell phone and $150 in cash.
The suspect is described as a black male, six feet tall and approximately 25 years old. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a black hat.
