NBA Cancels Preseason Games Amid Labor Upheaval; Training Camps Postponed

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NBA has postponed training camps indefinitely and canceled 43 preseason games because it has not reached a new labor deal with players.

The league announced today that all games from October 9th-15th are off and further decisions will be made as warranted.

Camps were expected to open October 3rd.

The cancellations were expected after the latest meeting between owners and players on Thursday ended without a collective bargaining agreement.

Both sides still hope the entire regular season, scheduled to begin November 1st, can be saved.
