Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Fall Festival
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - What are you doing Saturday? Your whole family's invited - including your doggie - to The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's Fall Garden Festival, this Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm at the Philadelphia Navy Yard - and it's free. Yup, you can even bring four-pawed pals to frolic in the pet zone.
Drop off your clean plastic nursery pots for recycling and join in the fun - from contests for best salsa and edible arrangements, to a great slate of garden lectures and a market of gadgets, gifts and plants.
Kids'll keep busy crafting critters, pressing plants, and creating carrot - and cucumber - cars for the rip-roaring veggie races! And take a double-decker bus tour around the Navy Yard to see just what's going on down there.
Plus, PHS members get to take home their free 'Dividend Plant' that day - a nice bonus, so you might want to think about joining.
