PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Philadelphia Collection is a series of fashion and style events taking place all over the city this week.  One of the biggest events, Phashion Phest, takes place on Wednesday.

Phashion Phest is a day-long extravaganza, filled with Philadelphia couture, food and fun.  This year’s theme is Phashion in a Phlash! And will feature an afternoon of fashion flash mobs, followed by a fashion show at Liberty Place at 7pm.

“We showcase more than 20 sponsors, more than a dozen retailers, seven salons, related beauty and accessory businesses.”

Founder and Executive Producer Sharon Phillips Waxman says she started Phashion Phest 18 years ago so that Philadelphia retailers could show off fashion right here.

“I was tired of people say if you want something fabulous to wear, you have to go outside of our area. The mission of Phashion Phest is to showcase fashion you can go out and get the very next day in your own neighborhood.”

Tickets for the show cost $50. For more information, go to PhashionPhest.com.
