BRANDYWINE HUNDRED, Del. (AP) – New Castle County police are investigating after a Brandywine Hundred man was found shot to death and his wife was found unresponsive.

Officers were called to the home in the 200 block of Beau Tree Drive in Brandywine Hundred on Friday afternoon for a report of a shooting victim. There they found the 59-year-old man dead and determined that he had died from an apparent gunshot wound.

The man’s 60-year-old wife was unresponsive when she was found in the home, but police say she is in serious condition at a medical facility.

Police say there was no sign of forced entry at the home.
