Five Shot In Hunting Park Home Invasion

Nicole Brewer reports…

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say five men, all in their 20s, were shot early Friday morning in what may be a drug related break-in the city’s Hunting Park section.

The incident happened at about 4 a.m. in the 4000 block of North Broad Street, where a group of men outside of a home were approached by two masked gunmen. The gunmen robbed the group, then shot them.

Four of the men were listed in stable condition, and one of them refused treatment.

Authorities say all the injuries are non-life threatening. Police have not made any arrests.

What few people know, is these reported crimes are just a tiny fraction of the many events that occur every day, and are never reported to the public. Years ago, my police scanner never stopped receiving calls for police action. Now, about 20 years later, things are worse.

Blacks & guns, blacks & guns, that’s all it ever is about. Fractured families, lack of discipline, poor self esteem & knucklehead thug rappers like J-zee, Lil wayne etc influencing the Brotha’s.
