Job Fair At Oxford Valley Mall

LANGHORNE, Pa. (CBS) - Some local residents may not be able to watch President Obama's address to Congress about his job creation plan tonight because they may be in line trying to get work at a job fair in Bucks County.

For the second straight year, the Oxford Valley Mall is partnering with its retailers to hold a job fair. More than two dozen stores in the mall are looking to hire full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees and you can meet face to face with those who are hiring between 5:30 and 7:30 this evening.

Mall Marketing Director Jim Malervy has some advice.

"They (job seekers) should prepare a 20 to 30 second introductory speech. These retailers will be talking to a lot of people and they want to make sure that they stand out. Bring a lot of copies of the resume and dress appropriately."

He says retailers are hoping for a strong holiday shopping season and that's why they need the employees. Malervy says it's just a coincidence the job fair falls on the same night as the president's speech. He says they've been planning the fair for months.
