2 Men Seriously Wounded In Asbury Park Shootings

ASBURY PARK, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say two men were seriously wounded when gunfire erupted during a brawl in a Jersey Shore community.

But Monmouth County prosecutors say it's still not clear what sparked Friday's incident in Asbury Park, which occurred shortly after 11 p.m. Friday.

The victims—identified only as a 23-year-old Neptune man and an 18-year-old Asbury Park resident—remained hospitalized Saturday. But both are expected to fully recover from their wounds.

Prosecutors say the Asbury Park man was shot in the upper body, while the Neptune man was struck in the lower body. But further details were not immediately disclosed.

Police did recover a gun at the scene, but it was not immediately known if it was fired in the incident.
