LOWER SALFORD Twp., Pa. (CBS) – One person is dead following a crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s Northeast Extension today.
It happened around 3 a.m. in Lower Salford Township, Montgomery County. Police say a car was stopped on the shoulder between the Lansdale and Quakertown exits and when another motorist stopped to help, a tanker truck hit both vehicles.
The names of those involved in the collision have not been released.
The northbound lanes were reopened shortly after 11 this morning.
