Arena Football: Soul Choose Doug Plank As New Head Coach

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League have filled their head coaching vacancy, naming former Chicago Bears defensive back Doug Plank to the position.

He replaces Mike Hohensee, who resigned at the end of this past season — a season that saw Philadelphia go 6-12.

Plank is no stranger to the Arena League — in fact, he is a two-time AFL “Coach of the Year” with the Georgia Force.

He spent eight seasons in the NFL, all with the Bears.
