Pennsylvania Officials Blame 3 Deaths On Irene

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- Pennsylvania officials are reporting Hurricane Irene has caused three deaths in the state.

Gov. Tom Corbett said Sunday the storm is being blamed in the deaths of two campers and one man who died in a crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Ruth Miller, a spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, says a man in a camper was crushed by a tree in Luzerne County in northeastern Pennsylvania. Police found his body shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday. Miller says another camper, a man in a tent, was crushed by a tree around 5 a.m. Sunday in Dauphin County in central Pennsylvania.

The third victim was killed overnight when he lost control of his car on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Carbon County, skidded over an embankment and hit a tree.
