CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) - Officials in Chester have ordered evacuations for Hurricane Irene.

In Parker Manor, mandatory evacuations have been set in place for the 600 and 1300 blocks of Parker Street, and areas between the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Kerlin Street. Everyone is directed to evacuate these areas by noon on Saturday.

Shelter may be sought at the Showalter Middle School located at 10th and Lloyd Streets. If you should require assistance in getting to the shelter, you can call 610-447-7842.

Fire officials and police will be on site to assist with evacuations starting Saturday morning. Bus transportation to the shelter will be provided in these areas starting at 10:00 a.m. Electrical power in these locations will be shut off following the evacuation at noon.

Residents of Holy City should be advised of a potential flooding hazard from Holy City to Barclay Street.

All residents should treat this as an emergency situation and take extreme precaution.
