Lightning Strike Sparks House Fire In Delaware County

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. (CBS) – Fire officials say a lightning strike sparked a house fire in Delaware County early Friday morning.

The fire started at about 2:45 a.m. at a home in the 100 block of Norwinden Drive in Springfield.

Firefighters arrived on scene and found the home fully engulfed in flames. They were able to place the fire under control at about 3:30 a.m.

Fire officials say a bolt of lightning struck the home, sparking the fire.

There were no reports of any injuries.
