Norristown Teen Charged With Murdering Girlfriend As Break-In Retaliation

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) - Authorities in Montgomery County, Pa. have arrested an 18-year-old Norristown man for the murder of a 16-year-old girl, his former girlfriend, in what police are calling a retaliation killing.

Prosecutors say there is a lot of evidence that points to Brandon Pierce as the man who pulled the trigger in the early morning hours of July 20th, killing Dominique Devlin (see related story).  They say they have the gun used in the shooting and clothing that witnesses say Pierce was wearing that day.

And Montgomery County district attorney Risa Ferman says that investigators believe Devlin (right) was involved somehow in a home invasion at Pierce's home two weeks before the shooting.

"The defendant had learned of his former girlfriend's complicity, and he had made statements to others that he was going to, quote, get that bitch, because he believed that she had set him up," Ferman says.

And the DA says that when Pierce made those statements, he pulled a semi-automatic pistol from his pocket.

Police say there were text messages between the two that indicate he lured her to the DeKalb Street address where she was shot.
