Plant Sale Season Is In Bloom

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - As you start thinking about putting this year's garden to bed, it's also time to think ahead, because things you plant in the fall have three seasons to get established before they have to endure a hot summer. And this Saturday, August 20th, the Hardy Plant Society is holding its Fall Gardener's Market at the Freedoms Foundation near Valley Forge - you'll find details and directions here: http://www.hardyplant.org/calendar/aug.htm

This sale brings all kinds of unique vendors to one place so you don't have to drive all over the countryside to find them - plus, you get to ask all those smart, helpful Hardy Plant Society members for advice, like "How big will this plant get? Does it need a lot of pruning? Will it grow in my yard?"

So, bring a wagon or garden cart to wheel away all those plants you're going to want, and head to the Hardy Plant Society's Gardener's Market this Saturday from 9 to 2. If you happen to miss this one, stay tuned for more fall plant sales - they're starting up again because autumn is such a great time to get things in the ground.
