Philadelphia Police Search For Missing 5-Year-Old Boy

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Authorities in West Philadelphia are searching for a 5-year-old boy who went missing Monday evening.

Police said Kayrim Muhammad was last seen at 5:30 p.m. near 52nd and Pine streets where he was attending a day camp held at MalcoLm X Park. Police have been searching for the boy since 7 p.m. and say they have a cooperating witness.

According to police, the witness states that he or she may have seen the child with a black or Hispanic male.

Authorities have not yet mentioned whether an Amber Alert has been issued; however, at 10:15 p.m., Lt. John Walker held a press conference at the 12th District courtroom regarding the case.

The child was last seen wearing a grey Polo shirt, blue jean shorts, and black sneakers. Anyone with information is asked to please contact detectives at 215-686-3184.
