Longtime Rehoboth Beach Mayor To Stay In Office

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. (AP) -- Rehoboth Beach incumbent Mayor Samuel Cooper and incumbent City Commissioner Lorraine Zellers will stay in office.

Zellers will be joined on the commission by newcomer Mark Hunker, who won the race for an open seat on Saturday.

City officials say Cooper, who has held office since 1990, beat challenger Thomas McGlone by a vote of 665 to 483.

In the race for two seats on the city's Board of Commissioners, incumbent Zellers was the top vote-getter with 712, followed by Hunker with 619 votes. Richard Kirchoff came in third with 540 votes.
