JCC Maccabi Games Begin Sunday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Beginning Sunday, the Philadelphia area will crackle with the excitement of the JCC Maccabi Experience.

The JCC Maccabi Experience is much more than the Olympic-style games at its center, says Dan Deutsch, Director of the Experience.  For the thousand Jewish athletes gathering here and another group in Springfield Massachusetts, this is also a time of making cultural, social and community connections that go beyond competition.

“As an example, we have a Days of Caring and Sharing program in which we’ll be doing seven different community service projects.”

The Experience brings in athletes and others from all over the US and as far away as Israel and Panama, centered at Kaiserman JCC in Wynnewood.

“Kaiserman will be the hub where most of the activity will happen but we are using 24 different venues throughout the Philadelphia area.”
