PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Police are looking for as many as five men wanted in connection with a home invasion and robbery early this morning in South Philadelphia.

Police say as many as five masked gunman broke into a second-floor apartment in the 600 block of South Street around 4 a.m. and tied up the resident, who is said to be the owner of the “VIP” jewelry store located on the ground floor of the building.

The armed bandits then roughed up the man before taking his keys and using them to make entry into the jewelry store, according to investigators. They scooped up jewels with an estimated value of $650,000, and then fled the scene.

Detectives say no one was hurt. There were no immediate suspects and no arrests.

The store owner, who was visibly shaken but not seriously hurt, was in the process of completing an inventory to determine the exact value of the items taken.
