Conshohocken Woman Who Drowned Might Have Sleep-Walked Into Schuylkill

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (CBS) - Authorities in Montgomery County have identified the woman whose body was found floating in the Schuylkill River on Wednesday, near the Whitemarsh Boat Club.

The woman is identified as Catherine Kelly, 72, of Spring Mill Avenue in Conshohocken.

Montgomery County coroner Dr. Walter Hofman says the woman drowned, but said that determination could be changed later if investigators determine there was foul play.

The district attorney's office said Wednesday that didn't appear to be the case.

Hofman and the woman's family tell the Inquirer that Kelly suffered from narcolepsy, and authorities are investigating whether she sleepwalked into the river.

He says the woman was last seen Tuesday night at her sister's house, and the family became concerned when she didn't show up for mass at St. Matthew's Church on Wednesday morning.

Her car is still at her house, about a half-mile from the river.

Police are hoping to track down surveillance video of the area that could help them solve the mystery.
