Sunshine, Blue Sky and Deals

Here's a little insider info about rainy day golf for you to tuck away for the future:  The Golf Course at Glen Mills  has VERY impressive drainage.  Played there yesterday after that prolonged downpour and tornado warning.  Buckets came down.   A half hour after the storm moved through, we were out on the golf course.  The greens were dry and surprisingly fast, balls were not plugging and there were very few other problem spots.  It was not the slog I had expected after that nasty storm.  Thumbs up to architect Bobby Weed, Superintendent  John Vogts and the staff there.

Looks like the weather will be much more cooperative for the next few days so we did a little poking around for some deals:

Hershey Links is taking 20% off its regular fees between noon and 3pm  this month.  They're also featuring a $59 Twilight Rate after 3pm.

Golf18Philadelphia.com has some nice specials, including some select tee times at Morgan Hill for just $19.25 cart included.  Heckuva deal if it fits your time frame.

This weekend, Pocono Manor offers $10 replays on both the East and West Courses.  That includes your cart for your second round.

Next Tuesday, and every Tuesday in August, Odessa National lets kids 14-and-under play free with their parents after 3pm, and offers a half-price Kids Meal with each paid adult entree.

And (self-promotion alert) I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the CBSPhilly Players Club.  For $75, you get five rounds, one each at Golden Pheasant ... Downingtown Country Club ... Chesapeake Bay – Rising Sun ... Chesapeake Bay – North East ... and Patriots Glen.  Shameless, I know... but still a good deal!
