NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Police say they have arrested two knife-wielding men after a fight in Newark during which a man had two fingers severed.
Newark police arrested 20-year-old Kyle Fletcher and 21-year-old Richard Burke early Sunday.
The two are accused of getting involved in an argument with a 26-year-old man and 21-year-old woman in the parking lot of the Deer Park Tavern on Main Street. Police say Fletcher and Burke struck the pair with large knives, severing two fingers on the man’s left hand.
The pair then fled the scene but were stopped by a University of Delaware police officer for driving erratically.
They have been charged with assault, possession of a deadly weapon and conspiracy.
