Fire Damages South Street Restaurant

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Fire officials are investigating the cause of an early morning blaze that damaged a popular South Street restaurant.

The fire started at about 12:30 a.m. at the Baja Room Restaurant in the 1500 block of South Street.

According to fire officials, the small one-alarm fire started in the lower level of the restaurant. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.

There were no reports of any injuries. The amount of damage was not immediately known.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
