Multiple Armed Robberies Under Investigation In Camden County

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- A 49-year-old Cherry Hill woman is critical but stable after emergency surgery following an attack around 11:20 p.m. on Burnt Mill Road.

Police say the woman was walking alone from PATCO's Woodcrest Station when two men jumped her.

"They caused her to have a laceration on her head and they stabbed her in the arm, through the bicep and into her chest", says Lieutenant William Kushina.

He says the men stole one of the woman's two bags. The two men can be seen on the train station's surveillance video following her across the parking lot.

Cherry Hill Police are also investigating whether the woman's attackers are the same two men wanted in Mt. Ephraim for the robbery of a 76-year-old woman around 6:45 Monday morning.

The woman was turning her car around on Linden Avenue when two men in a silver 2000 Mercury Cougar boxed her car in. Police say both men were armed.

"We believe the driver walks up and taps on her window with the muzzle of the gun", says Mt Ephraim Police Captain Brian Beppel.

Public works employee Chris Fitzgerald witnessed the robbery when the frightened woman started beeping her horn.

"I saw the guy tapping his gun on her window. I yelled 'guys he's got a gun, call 911,'" Fitzgerald said.

In this case, the suspects were able to make off with money the victim threw from her car window.

Fitzgerald, who says they swerved at him, got the license plate number and police learned the car was taken in an armed carjacking at the Dunkin' Donuts on the White Horse Pike around 2:45 a.m.

If you have any information about these incidents or know the whereabouts of the Mercury Cougar with NJ plates:DL7-275, contact police by dialing 911.
