Heavy Rain, Wind Rip Through Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, N.J. (CBS) - A storm ripped through Cape May County Sunday afternoon, leaving thousands without power, according to Ocean City Police.

According to Atlantic City Electric, as of 9 p.m., 6,031 customers in southern New Jersey are experiencing power outages. Of those 6,031 customers, 4,327 live in Cape May County.

Police said at about 5:15 p.m., heavy rain and wind swept through and damaged multiple homes throughout the area (see photos).

There are no reports of injuries at this time.
