Washington Native Embarks On Summer Road Trip In Search Of Work, Stops In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Matt Perkins and his family are on a summer road trip like no other. It’s a job hunting journey.

The city planner from Walla Walla, Washington lost his job six months ago. After applying for jobs across the country but getting nowhere, he decided to go on a job hunting road trip with his wife and three young children.

So far, they traveled through 11 different states and stopped in 25 different cities. While in Philadelphia, he checked out the city’s Human Resources department and got a bit of job hunting advice but no job offer.
