2 Philadelphia PSPCA Shelters Offering Free Adoptions This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Several huge hoarding busts this week along with a large seasonal intake of cats and dogs maxed out two animal shelters, so if you were looking for a pet, you could have gotten one for free this weekend.

The Pennsylvania SPCA shelter at 350 East Erie Avenue and the Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Team Shelter at 111 West Hunting Park Avenue offered free adoptions Saturday and Sunday.

Oren Liebermann reports...

No fees, just a pet--with spraying and neutering, vaccinations and a microchip all included.

The adoption centers were open this weekend from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. In all, the animal control center adopted out more than 200 hundreds pets, but more still need a home.
