BRONX, N.Y. (CBS) - Federal marshals have tracked down a teenage murder suspect in the stabbing death of a Camden County, NJ man.
The victim, Theotis Butts, and the boy once lived in the same home in Blackwood, NJ. The 16-year-old is a former foster child of Butts.
According to investigators, Butts’ wife sent a family member to check on the 67-year-old man when he didn’t show up at the train station on Monday night to take her back to their house on Hemlock Drive.
“He got there and found his brother-in-law on the floor inside the front door, stabbed to death,” says Capt. Richard Minardi with the Camden County prosecutor’s office. Minardi says the boy was found and arrested on a street in the Bronx, New York.
Authorites won’t talk about a motive for the killing. Officials say prosecutors will seek to charge the suspect as an adult.
