PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It’s that time of year when you’re hitting the beach or the pool and you want to look slim. Just your luck, a Center City restaurant now goes one step beyond with light cocktails.
Skinny Cocktails are the creation of Vallani head bartender Ed Kaye. He explains why listing the caloric content makes a difference.
“Most of the cocktails are anywhere from 170 calories and below — some of them start at 90. Most cocktails — margaritas, long islands — are anywhere from 500 to 1,000 calories per drink,” says Kaye.
And what is in a 90-calorie drink?
“We have a ‘Ripped and Whipped’ — it is whipped cream vodka, which is 90 calories per ounce and a quarter, and then just Diet Coke.”
