PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Phillies announced Friday they are placing center fielder Shane Victorino on the disabled list following an injury to his thumb.

Victorino was scheduled to play in the All-Star game but sustained a ligament sprain in his right thumb, according to Assistant General Manager Scott Proefrock.

To fill his spot on the roster, the Phillies recalled infielder Pete Orr from triple-A Lehigh Valley.
