Parx Casino Leads Pennsylvania Casinos In Slots Play

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) - Parx casino continues to wear the crown as Pennsylvania's leading casino for slots play, according to revenue figures for the fiscal year that ended last week.

For fiscal year 2010-'11, Parx led the way for Pennsylvania casinos, with more than $5.1-billion in slots wagers. The Sands in Bethlehem was second, with $3.7-billion, and Harrah's in Chester was third with $3.3-billion. SugarHouse in Philadelphia has only been open for part of the fiscal year.

Parx also has the lead in tables for the first 11 months of the fiscal year, with nearly $80.5-million in gross revenues from table games. Table figures for June are not yet available.

When it comes to tax revenue from slots play, Pennsylvania's ten casinos, overall, produced 7.8% more in fiscal year '10-'11 than they did the year before. However, most of that increase is attributable to the addition of SugarHouse, which opened in September.
