By Jim Donovan: It might not be cold outside, but hunger can happen in the summer too. So The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia is launching a special Christmas in July campaign, a month-long series of fund raising events to help bridge the gap between a continued increase in demand for basic emergency assistance and a shortfall in traditional funding.
To help make up this funding shortfall and meet the needs of those less fortunate, you will see the famous Red Kettles at a number of Center City locations every Wednesday during July. I encourage you to donate whatever you can towards this worthwhile effort.
Here is a list of the locations around Center City:
The Bellevue (Broad and Walnut)
The Corner Bakery (17th and JFK)
The Gallery at Market East (9th and Market)
Loews Hotel (12th and Market)
Reading Terminal Market (12th and Arch)
Two Liberty Place (17th and Chestnut)
1500 Market Street
