From You Gotta Have Arts!
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – “Drawn To The Water” is a new exhibit at the The Independence Seaport Museum.
“Artists of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts capture our region’s waterways, 1830 to present. Paintings representing the Delaware River, the Jersey Shore, and the Schuylkill River,” says Curator Craig Bruns describing each painting as a snapshot of history.
“So all of these pictures show a balance between nature and industry. How human beings, how we have changed the landscape and then how artists see the landscape.”
You can also get a free coloring sketchbook that puts history in your hands.
“Color your way through the landscape as it were. So like these artists in this exhibit, you can become an artist.”
“Drawn to the Water” will be at the museum until the end of the year. For more information, go phillyseaport.org.
