Delaware County Man Dies After Jumping Into Shallow Area Of Darby Creek

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) - A Delaware County man died Saturday afternoon after jumping into a shallow area of Darby Creek, according to authorities.

Police were called to the scene near Creek and Station roads at about 5:30 p.m. after they say the victim, 25-year-old Christopher Scott of Clifton Heights, was found in the water.

Scott was pronounced dead at the scene but officials are trying to determine whether he drowned or died from injuries sustained in the jump. Police say the death appears to be accidental.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
