Survey: Many Americans Have Little Confidence In Economic Recovery

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If perception is indeed reality, then a new nationwide survey shows us some grim results.

The housing market is still a mess and Americans are feeling it. Almost half of Americans say their life and future plans have been affected by the housing market. 15 percent say they have missed at least one mortgage payment in the last three years.

It gets even tougher on the subject of the overall economy. Almost 40 percent say the economy may never fully recover and 60 percent expect a job loss in the years ahead.

On the topic of Afghanistan, as its linked to government spending, 79 percent approve of President Obama's plan to reduce troops. The bottom line: many Americans do not expect to see good news on the economic front anytime soon.
