All watch and no play is no fun for golfers… so in addition to taking in the AT&T National at Aronimink you’re no doubt making plans to whack the little white ball around this weekend. Here is a sampling of the deals we’ve found poking around the web:
Bella Vista (see photo) has July Early Bird specials…and tomorrow morning before 8am, you can play for $42 including cart. Seniors take $5 off that rate.
Friday night will be busy at Honeybrook Golf Club. First, a Couple’s Night Scramble will kick off at 6pm. Cost is $55 non-member couple and $30 for member couple. Then, venture out after dark for a few holes of Glow Ball ( $20 pp non-member or $15 pp for members). You’re asked to call the golf shop to register at 610-273-0207. There’s aloso live music on the patio from 7pm to 9pm.
If you’re at or near the shore…you can play Vineyard Golf at Renault on Monday the 4th for just $49 after noon. On July 5 – 7, rates are $69 any time. You need to mention the special email rate when you call the pro shop.
July 2nd through 4th at Ballamor you can play after noon for $70 including cart. The rate is $65 at its sister course, Scotland Run.
Special holiday rates at Back Creek: Sunday and Monday afternoon – $45 includes green fee, cart and an “all american lunch” with a cheeseburger, potato salad and cole slaw.
As far as golf gear goes, the online retailers have been in a frenzy for the past week figuring out various sale angles to get you to stop by their websites. There are many 15% to 25% off deals, which are not gotta-have-it-no-brainers but are well worth it if you’re shopping for something anyway. You can check them all out at the Deal Tracker Golf link below.
Ed Abrams anchors mornings on KYW Newsradio, and you can hear his Golf Reports there on Fridays and Saturdays. He has also created a new website at www.DealTrackerGolf.com, a resource for golfers seeking the best bargains on clubs, apparel and everything golf.
