Police: Insult Led To Deadly Shooting In South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A disparaging comment about a female led to the deadly shooting of a man early Wednesday morning, police said.

The deadly incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. at 21st and Morris Streets in the city’s Point Breeze section.

According to investigators, the incident began when a 19-year-old man said something out of line about the suspect’s girlfriend.

Police say the suspect then pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking the victim in the head.

The victim was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was later pronounced dead.

The suspect fled the scene after the shooting. Police are continuing their search for the gunman.

The deadly shooting remains under police investigation.

What could this guy have said? I could understand an assault on the women and he defended her, and gun play occured. But this dude just wanted to shoot someone, and was waiting for a reason to do it.

Back in the day, when people (men) had disputes on the streets–they stood
toe to toe and duked it out with their fists!!!

Savages. Worse than animals. Things are getting crazy. I spend a lot of time in areas with bears, coyotes, and rattle snakes and I NEVER have the worries out in the sticks that I have walking around this city. What kind of society are we living in when the price of human life is so cheap?

    Wow. Really sad.
