Philadelphia Music Mogul’s Psychedelic Trip Down Memory Lane

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Music Mogul and club owner Larry Magid spoke on Thursday as part of the free author series sponsored by the Free Library of Philadelphia, Magid’s new book is a trip down memory lane.
Larry Magid dominated the Philadelphia live music scene for nearly four decades, producing more than 15,000 concerts and performances. Now, the legendary promoter, has put his memories in a colorful, 200-page coffee-table book titled “My Soul’s Been Psychadelicized: The Electric Factory– Four Decades in Posters and Photographs.”
Magid describes the experience of entering the Electric Factory when it opened in 1968:
“When you walked in you walked in through this big maze, it was a fog machine…the strobe lights would hit you and the colors would bounce off the walls.”
The Music mogel has produced concert tours for legends like The Allman Brothers, Patti LaBelle and Stevie Wonder.
