Man Kills Wife And Son With Bat Then Throws Himself In Front Of Train

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Bucks County authorities are investigating a double-murder suicide in Warrington Township. A man is said to have killed his wife, young son and himself.

Police say 44-year-old Christopher Moyer bludgeoned his wife and son to death Friday night in their home along Redstone Drive.

Warrington Police Chief James Miller says Moyer called police at around 9:40 p.m.

"He called in saying he wanted to report a murder. And they asked him who was murdered; he said his wife and his son."

Police asked Moyer, who did it, he said he did using a baseball bat to kill wife 39-year-old Irina Moyer and his son seven year old Dylan.

Police say they found Moyer's truck near SEPTA tracks in Hatboro and his body was then found on the tracks. Investigators believe he committed suicide by throwing himself in front of a train.

Bucks County coroner Dr. Joseph Campbell says the woman and child were apparently struck with the bat as they slept.
District Attorney David Heckler told the Bucks County Courier Times that the family may have been having financial problems.
