Sustainable Eating And Living Trolley Tours In University City

UNIVERSITY CITY, PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The University City District is holding a series of trolley tours that celebrate sustainable eating and living. The first one is this Saturday.

The trolley tours will travel to urban farms, where local foods start from seed and end as compost, to local restaurants that use the local products. The first tour, West Philadelphia Farm to Table Trolley Tour, is sponsored by Philly Homegrown, which is the local food initiative by the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation.

"Actually understand how much we have as far as urban farms in the city, how easy it is to participate in the local food movement, by buying, by visiting farms, by, perhaps, growing foods yourself," said Donna Schorr, Director of communications at GPTMC on what people can learn.
