PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. spoke this morning with KYW’s Harry Donahue, touching on a number of subjects but most notably the continuing struggles of the Phillies offense.

“Our offense has obviously not produced the way we would like it to produce,” Amaro said, “but I believe in these guys.  They’ve had success in the past, and we have to hope they turn it on when it’s time to turn it on.”

Amaro says it’s all about finding a way:

“We’re not driving the ball and we’re not driving the ball for power, so we’re going to have to figure out different ways to try and create runs.”

Despite the offensive struggles, the Phillies are 37-26 as they get ready to battle the Cubs again tonight.  That’s the second best record in baseball.
