Renaissance Faire This Weekend In Columbus, New Jersey
COLUMBUS, N.J. (CBS) - If modern times seem tiresome, you can take a trip back in time this weekend or next, during the second annual New Jersey Renaissance Faire.
The Faire takes place tomorrow and Sunday, and then next Saturday and Sunday as the Liberty Lake Day Camp in Columbus, New Jersey, is transformed into the village of Crossford. There are more events than you can shake a lance at, including jousting, period crafts and lots of "villagers" to bring you into their long-ago world. That, says co-owner T.J. Miller, is what makes this faire excellent.
"We really, really focus on the street interaction of the place. I think it was about the past three months we've been in rehearsals, going over the shows, but a lot of it is also going over character development and interaction skills, and improv, so people can really bring the streets alive."
