PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – As expected, the Phillies have activated starting centerfielder Shane Victorino from the 15-day disabled list and to make room for him on the roster, outfielder John Mayberry Jr. has been optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Victorino was placed on the DL with a hamstring injury on May 20th.  He went 2-13 on a four-game minor league rehabilitation assignment with Single-A Lakewood and Double-A Reading.  Overall on the season, Victorino is hitting .284 with six home runs.

Mayberry batted .231 with three home runs and 12 RBI in 45 games for the Phillies.

Phillies open a three game series in Pittsburgh tonight.
