PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A holiday heat wave has moved into the region prompting an excessive heat advisory until 9 p.m. tonight.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory for the area around Philadelphia, including New Jersey’s Camden, Gloucester and Mercer Counties, along with northern Burlington County.

As the temperatures continue to soar, an excessive heat watch goes into effect from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday night. High temperatures are expected to be in the mid-90s.
