PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Pennsylvania Ballet performs La Fille Mal Gardee June second through the 11th at the Academy of Music.
“This is really based on real people, you know two young people, boy meets girl, some trouble arises and boy ends up with girl at the end,” says Artistic Director Roy Kaiser about this classic story that anyone can appreciate.
He says the story is easy to follow, even without words. The music will put you in a good mood then there’s the dancing. “It’s very, very strong choreographically; it’s just beautiful, dancing, wonderful dancing, and virtuosic dancing.”
He calls it a technically demanding performance that requires the entire company.
You can hear Lynne Adkins’ interview with Roy Kaiser in this CBS Philly At Your Leisure podcast…
