PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The American Theater Arts for Youth will perform a musical version of The Wizard of Oz Wednesday, May 18th through the 22nd at the Kimmel Center.
“A marvelous story, really, all about getting home. And this is why I’ve come to believe it is such a popular story from generation to generation,” describes Laurie Wagman, founder and chairman.
Wagman says The American Theater is celebrating its 41st year as the nation’s largest producer of professional theater for young audiences. “There’s a magic to live theater that’s incomparable.”
And she says this more than just a typical theater experience because after each show, the performers meet the eager audience. “There’s a chance to touch and talk and photograph.”
