Phillies: Carlos Ruiz Reactivated From Disabled List
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Good news on the injury front for the Phillies. Catcher Carlos Ruiz, out of action since April 28th because of a bad back, has been activated from the 15-day disabled list.
Ruiz went 1-3 with one run scored last night in a rehab appearance with the Single-A Clearwater Threshers, and reported no problems afterward.
A spot was opened for Ruiz on the 25-man roster when catcher Brian Schneider went on the 15-day DL with a left hamstring strain.
Ruiz is hitting .226 with two home runs and nine RBIs this season.
The Phillies open a three-game series in Atlanta tonight.
