Man Gunned Down Outside North Philadelphia BP Gas Station

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are searching for the suspect who fatally shot a man outside a North Philadelphia gas station Wednesday evening.

The shooting occurred just after 9 p.m. at the BP Gas Station near Broad Street and Glenwood Avenue.

Sources say the victim, who has not been identified, was purchasing a cigar at the station's window when he was approached by a man who shot him four times in the chest and several more times after he fell to the ground.

The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The gunman fled the scene after the shooting. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the shooter.

The deadly shooting remains under police investigation.
